My granddaughter called this morning, and we talked about building snowmen. Since we are both living in a snow globe, it seemed a perfect topic. However, I did experience a pang of guilt upon hanging up.<\/p>\n

Remembering the years of stuffing children into snow gear \u2014 and out \u2014 and in \u2014 and out \u2014 and in, ad infinitum, I could just imagine some of the dialogue going on at Immy’s house and in houses all over the snowy states. It begins with,\u00a0“Mom (or Dad), can we go out, pleeeeeeease?” And it often ends with one more trip to the door.<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0if you’re surrounded by snow, and the snowsuit thing is driving you batty, here’s an alternative. I enjoy the “oooh, ahhhh” kind of crafts as much as anyone, but indoor snowmen are not exactly art. They have to be quick. And easy. And doable with whatever is on hand. If you\u00a0have more stuff at hand than I did, yours will be much cuter.<\/p>\n

I made the ones above in less than five minutes, speedier than I normally would\u00a0because I discovered I no longer own play gloves, and snow is COLD. Here are the ingredients I started with:<\/p>\n
